Understanding About Global Value Chain

There are different concepts exist in our educational books which are given by different intellectual through their point of view. Similarly Michael Porte’s global value chain theory is one of the renowned one.  The model is given below:

After reading his theory I understood that, local companies when becomes multinational then they faces different types of challenges in their operation. Because it is quiet impossible for the companies to become effective in every section of their business due to frequent changes in technology and also the customer mind.

Activities of Global Value Chain

So when a company wants resolve these problems and to enhance efficiency and to optimize profits, multinational enterprises locate "research, development, design, assembly, production of parts, marketing and branding" activities in different countries around the globe. In Porter's value chains, Inbound Logistics, Operations, Outbound Logistics, Marketing and Sales and Service are categorized as primary activities. Secondary activities include Procurement, Human Resource management, Technological Development and Infrastructure. Now I will give a hypothetical example to express my understanding through LICT project for FTFL program.

LICT project recruited 160 FTFTL through the recruitment process after that the trainees will be trained into three phase soft skill, hard skill, and internship or on job training process then will be placed to ICT industry
as skilled manpower. The project objective is to contribute to create skilled manpower as well as leaders into the ICT sector so that the sector could provide 1 billion dollar to national economy by which global will be contributed. Form this figure we can conclude that LICT is contributing global economy through global value chain.
